Connect
Run GenTool from your own chat.
GenTool is a remote MCP server. Add it to Claude or ChatGPT by URL, sign in with OAuth 2.1 through Clerk (GenTool publishes the metadata), and say what you want: 'research the next 20 accounts in the fintech ICP and show me what passed QA'. Every change appears on your dashboard, labelled with the chat it came from.
Claude
Claude Desktop and claude.ai both work. The connector needs the Pro or Team plan.
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it GenTool and paste
https://gentool.fockeadvisory.com/mcpas the remote MCP server URL. Leave the advanced OAuth fields empty: sign-in is OAuth 2.1 through Clerk, and GenTool publishes the metadata. Choose Add. - On the new GenTool card choose Connect. GenTool's sign-in opens (Clerk); sign in and allow access.
- If you belong to more than one workspace, pick the one your connectors act in under Settings on the dashboard.
- In a chat, enable GenTool in the tools menu and ask for your queue.
ChatGPT
Custom connectors need developer mode (Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced settings). Write-capable tools (approve, mark sent) may be limited to Business and Enterprise ChatGPT plans; reads work on the GenTool Pro plan. Check OpenAI's current help article before relying on write parity.
- Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Create.
- Name it GenTool, paste
https://gentool.fockeadvisory.com/mcpas the MCP server URL and choose OAuth as the authentication. Choose Create. - GenTool's sign-in opens (Clerk); sign in and allow access.
- In a chat, open the tools menu, pick GenTool under developer mode, and ask for your queue.
Choose the workspace
Your sign-in names you, not a workspace. If you belong to more than one, pick the one your connectors act in under Settings on the dashboard.
Write tools ask first
Tools that change the queue (approve, reject, mark sent, log reply, research) are marked as writes, so Claude and ChatGPT ask before running them. Nothing is ever sent by GenTool.
API
Team plan: the same tools over REST.
